Dr. Saranya S. holds a B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering and an M.Tech. in Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering from the Kerala Agricultural University (KAU). She completed her Ph.D. in Agricultural Processing and Food Engineering from KAU, where her research primarily focused on non-thermal food processing technologies like Pulsed light (PL) and High pressure Processing (HPP).

Dr. Saranya S has extensive academic and research experience in the areas of non-thermal processing methods, food quality evaluation, drying and dehydration systems, value-added product development, and food safety. She has been actively involved in various research and development programmes within Kerala Agricultural University, contributing to projects in food processing, value addition, and innovative non-thermal preservation technologies.

Dr. Saranya S has contributed significantly to scientific literature, with research publications, book chapters, technical bulletins, conference papers, popular articles, and technology transfer outputs to her credit. She is a life member of prominent professional bodies, including the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists (AFST) and the Indian Society of Agricultural Engineers (ISAE).

She is currently serving as Assistant Professor, Department of Agricultural Engineering, College of Agriculture, Kerala Agricultural University, where she is actively engaged in teaching, research, and extension with a focus on advancing non-thermal food processing technologies.
