Blesson B. Varghese, and Arunima Babu C.S., both MSc Statistics students from the College of Agriculture, Vellayani, achieved national recognition by winning the first and second prizes at the 74th annual conference of the Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics. The conference, focusing on "Harnessing Statistics and Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable and Smart Agriculture," was held from February 2nd to 4th, 2024, at the N.M. College of Agriculture, Navsari Agricultural University (NAU), Gujarat. This conference was a collaborative effort between the Department of Statistics, N.M. College of Agriculture, NAU, Navsari, and the Indian Society of Agricultural Statistics, New Delhi.
Blesson B. Varghese presented the paper, titled "Trained GPT Models for Knowledge Delivery in Agriculture," which captured the attention of the conference. His research, which delves into the innovative use of trained Generative Pre-trained Transformer (GPT) models in agriculture, stood out among numerous high-caliber presentations. Arunima Babu C.S. on the other hand, secured second prize under the theme 'Modern Statistical Designs and Tools for Effective Experimentation.
