The seven-day NSS Special Camp titled “Oruvattom” was successfully conducted from 16 to 22 April 2026 at Catholicate Higher Secondary School, Pothukal, Nilambur, by NSS volunteers of KCAEFT, Tavanur. The camp commenced with an orientation session for volunteers, following which the team proceeded to Pothukal to carry out a series of community-oriented activities.
A four-day training programme under the AICRP on PHET–SCSP Sub-Plan was successfully conducted from 24 to 27 March 2026 at KCAFT, Tavanur, with the objective of strengthening entrepreneurship and livelihood opportunities among Scheduled Caste communities through food processing technologies. The programme was inaugurated on 24 March 2026 by Dr. Jayan P. R, Dean of Faculty (Agrl. Engg.).
A Training Programme on Cocoa Processing and Chocolate Making was organized on 17 March 2026 at KCAEFT, Tavanur, under the aegis of AICRP on PHET with financial support from the Directorate of Cashewnut and Cocoa Development, Government of India. The programme attracted 20 participants and featured practical exposure to cocoa value addition technologies and chocolate preparation techniques. Dr. Vithu Prabha welcomed the gathering, while the programme was inaugurated by Dr. Jayan P. R. Felicitations were delivered by Dr. Prince M. V. and the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Rajesh G. K.
A successful chilli harvest was recorded on 12 March 2026 at KCAEFT, Tavanur, under the State Plan Project titled “Network Project on Augmenting Chilli Production through Precision Farming and ICT Techniques.” Implemented jointly at KCAEFT Tavanur, KVK Pattambi, and KVK Thrissur during 2025–26, the project demonstrated the effective integration of IoT-based soil moisture and microclimate monitoring systems in protected cultivation.
An orientation session on the Civil Service Examination was conducted at KCAEFT Tavanur on 11 March 2026 by the Placement Cell and Placement Club, Students’ Union, in collaboration with ICSR Ponnani, a sub-centre of the Kerala State Civil Service Academy. The session offered students practical insights into the Civil Services Examination, preparation strategies, optional subject selection, and balancing UPSC preparation alongside regular academics.
